Accidental falls cause leaders injury head (US News)

(Saturday, December 11, HealthDay News), make sure that holiday stay merry by taking steps to prevent fall-related injuries, says the American Association of neurological surgeons.

Approximately 2.8 million children and 2 million people aged 65 and over are treated annually in U.S. accidental falls, hospital emergency rooms explains the AANS.

The AANS offers the following tips for the prevention of falls during the holidays and throughout the year:

Secure loose cords and pick up toys and other items which may be security floor.Use doors and install window guards. Keep chairs, cribs and other furniture beds far windows.Make, ensure you have adequate lighting in your home. Dim lighting increases the risk of falls. Install some lights in the rooms and bathrooms and keep a flashlight near bed.Keep elements in easy-to-reach places. Use step ladders saddles only when absolutely necessary.Make ensure scales are stable and secure to use with non-slip soles them.Wear appropriate shoes. Step walk on slippery, freshly washed floors. Use floor waxes.Remove debris and walkways, driveways, porches and carpet bath yards.Buy and carpets with anti-slip support ice and grab bars secure them.Install and ramps indoor and outdoor if you are old or frail.Do children take part in activities which are not appropriate for their age.
